   In 1993 Barry & BJ Bonner acquired their first alpacas and started Bonner Alpaca Ranch with their partners, Harold and Delight Bonner.  Their family history includes farmlands claimed during the second Land Rush in Oklahoma in 1908, so agriculture and livestock have always had great influence on their lives. Later, the decision was made to move the growing alpaca herd from Oklahoma to Colorado for a more favorable climate.  Cactus Mountain Alpacas evolved in 1997 when a new place was built in the foothills of Colorado just to the northwest of Canon City at the base of Cactus Mountain.

After ten wonderful years in Colorado, we are relocating back to Oklahoma in April.  You can now find us just south of Davenport, a small town about halfway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
